The short version is this
Joined the gym 4 weeks ago
ran 2 to 3 miles each time or took some form of exercise class or did both everyday(one day a week rest) for 4 weeks.
monitored , to some extent food intake, did not decrease a lot but defntly did not increase
weigh myself when I started and four weeks later.....
ZERO LBS LOST...?...?..#%*?@$*....WHAT! HOW IS THAT POSSIBLE!
O.K O.K MIRACLE A DAY. At 43 I am still physically able to do these workouts and I do feel better and my clothes fit a little better.

The reason the scale didn't move is because you replaced fat with muscle. This is a good thing. I get this complaint from my water aerobics ladies all the time. Keep going and you will eventually you will see a difference.
thank God, you have saved me from throwing myself under a train or eating 3 boxes of twinkies.. I just have never had this happen, I have always lost weight when I have set my mind to it. I will continue to treadmill
